Macon – David Elliott, 82, of Macon, passed away at 10:25 p.m., Sunday May 29, 2011 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
A celebration of David’s life will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Maranatha Assembly of God Church with Pastor Doug Lowery officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. till service time at the church. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, Cowden, IL with full military honors provided by the Macon County Honor Guard. Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Macon is assisting the family with services. Memorials may be made to Maranatha Assembly of God Church. David was born November 19, 1928 in Oconee, IL the son of Frank and Ada (Stephenson) Elliott. He served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was retired from L.E. Myers Co. as a master mechanic. He was a member of Maranatha Assembly of God Church, Blue Mound American Legion, and was a former licensed pilot. He married Peggy (Deaton) McNeely on June 25, 1983.
Surviving is his wife Peggy, of Macon; daughter: Debbie Crain and her husband Dan of Decatur; son: Mark Elliott of Decatur; step-sons: James McNeely and his wife Cheryl of Decatur, Paul McNeely and his wife Becky of Moweaqua, IL; step-daughter: Diana Aufrecht and her husband Mark of Christiansburg, VA; brother: Gary Elliott and his wife Mary of Pana, IL; nine grandchildren, five step grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and five step great-grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Gene, sisters: Betty and Jean, and his son: Keith.

Peggy and Family: Very sorry for your loss. We always enjoyed Dave walkiing across the street and visiting. Since I was from Pana we reminisced about Pana and Oconee. Our thoughts and prayers are with you as Dave will be sadley missed.
